Auditing and maintenance
consulting: Voies Navigables de France (VNF)
In 2007, VNF turned to the Ginger-Dorsch consortium to develop
a master maintenance plan for France's navigable waterways.
VNF is the French government agency in charge of managing the
country's navigable waterways. The waterway network is divided
into several river basins: the Seine, North (the Escaut), the
Moselle, the Rhine, the Rhône, and the Garonne, which are
interlinked by narrow canals. Most of the network is located in
the north-eastern quarter of France. The assets managed include
6,700 kilometres of navigable waterways, 3,800 of which are canals
and 2,900 of which are rivers; 419 dams; 1,602 locks; and 800
square kilometres of real estate.
The assignment entailed taking a complete inventory of all structures
and conducting a study to optimise the organisation of the maintenance
system. The goal was to make the system more operational for all
of its users.
VNF chose the Ginger-Dorsch consortium via a competitive, Europe-wide
selection process.
The project deadline, the special attention to change management
that was needed, and the wide range of skills required tipped
the balance in the Ginger-Dorsch consortium's favour.
Design
and construction of the Campbell's international research centre
US-based Campbell's international research centre is located
at the Liebig plant in le Pontet, France. The centre consists
of a plant testing unit for aseptic technologies which includes
industrial cooling equipment and adjacent office space for 25
researchers. The building offers a total surface area of 1,200
square meters and was designed to blend into the landscape-it
abuts a listed site-while providing all of the features of a full-fledged
production facility. Ginger provided turnkey design and construction
services. The project was delivered in September 2007.
Prime
contracting support for a 160,000 square meter retail/office project
in Saudi Arabia
Ginger's international subsidiary Ginger Investment Management
provided prime contracting support for a 160,000 square meter
retail and office project in Saudi Arabia. The 52-storey tower,
which includes lower parking and retail levels, is located on
the Jeddah Corniche and was designed by architects Batley Partners.
